Dutch Eyewear Chain Suspends Sales of Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Over Privacy Concerns

Dutch retail chain Hans Anders suspended sales of Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses in the Netherlands and Belgium amid growing privacy concerns.

The decision follows public debate and warnings from the Dutch privacy regulator AP regarding the sharing of identifiable videos recorded in public places.

Consumer rights group Consumentenbond and digital abuse group Offlimits have also challenged Meta and Luxottica over surveillance and covert recording risks.
