Microsoft offers voluntary exit packages to 60,000 eligible employees

Microsoft is offering voluntary buyout packages to approximately 60,000 eligible employees at level 70 and below across the US, UK, Canada, and India as part of workforce adjustments amid heavy investments in AI.

Participating employees must make their decision in early December and leave the company on December 31, receiving financial support and resources to plan their careers ahead.

The announcement precedes Microsoft's third-quarter results scheduled for Wednesday and follows an earlier voluntary retirement programme accepted by over 30 percent of eligible staff in July.
