
The CBI registered a case against two Nokia payroll officials, Vaibhav Verma and Kamaraju Mutyala, for allegedly siphoning Rs 19.33 crore from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation.
The accused created 94 fictitious provident fund accounts during the 2023-24 period, which were identified following an internal forensic audit conducted by the company.
Nokia has suspended both employees and is cooperating with the investigation, which involves charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Information Technology Act.
