Cryptocurrency exchange Binance reported that $6.3bn of digital assets were impacted in what has been described as the largest hack in history.
Two analytics firms attributed the security breach to a North Korean hacking unit called TraderTraitor, noting similarities to a previous Bybit exchange hack.
Binance disabled withdrawals and stated it will cover all losses, while other platforms such as Tether and Circle froze a combined total of $2.4bn in assets.
