Nitesh Siwach became the first Indian since 1962 to reach an Asiad Greco-Roman final, securing a silver medal after losing the 97kg final to Japan's Yuri Nakazato.
Nakazato defeated Nitesh 4-0 by executing a defensive masterclass with a pushout, a passivity point, and a two-point throw.
Nitesh advanced to the final by defeating Turkmenistan's Amanberdi Agamammedov and outclassing Mongolia’s Gankhuyag Ganbaatar 9-0 by technical superiority.
