Greater Victoria School Board Places Senior Leadership on Leave

The Greater Victoria School District Board of Education announced that Superintendent Deb Whitten and other senior leadership team members have been placed on leave.

The board cited concerns regarding transactions occurring outside normal operating processes and potential governance issues following its 2025 termination and subsequent reinstatement.

Despite the leadership changes, the board confirmed that back-to-school plans for students and staff remain unaffected, with capable designates currently managing district operations.
