Indian equities recorded their second straight weekly gain, with both the Nifty and Sensex surging nearly 9 percent driven by cheaper crude oil and renewed foreign buying.
Foreign portfolio investors purchased a net ₹22,693 crore of Indian equities during the week, while domestic institutional investors net sold ₹18,227 crore.
Brent crude prices retreated below $100 a barrel following the US Democratic midterm sweep, easing investor concerns over India's import bill and inflation.
