A panel set up by the PNGRB has recommended bringing petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel under the Goods and Services Tax regime to lower logistics costs.
The committee suggested abolishing or reducing Central Sales Tax to nil in the interim period to ease inter-state transport fuel movement through pipelines.
While previous proposals faced opposition from states, the empowered GST Council is scheduled to discuss process reforms during its meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday.
