The Ministry of Power approved exporting up to 654 MW of electricity to Nepal from September 13 to December 31 to combat power shortages caused by flash floods.
Power will be supplied to the Nepal Electricity Authority for 18 hours daily, with 600 MW sent via the Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar line and 54 MW through the Tanakpur-Mahendranagar line.
Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reported that the flood death toll reached 1,385, with 5,130 people remaining missing as of September 11.
