Bank of Baroda Investigates Alleged 1TB Data Breach

Bank of Baroda is conducting a forensic investigation after a threat actor allegedly leaked 1TB of sensitive customer and corporate data on the dark web on July 25, 2026.

The bank confirmed an employee's email account was compromised, though it stated core banking systems remain secure and were not accessed during the unauthorized incident.

Security researcher Srikanth Lakshmanan identified internal documents including loan appraisals and audit reports among the leaked data, which he attributes to a hacking group known as TripleX.
