The Niger State Government has set a six-month to one-year timeline to establish local clinical training facilities for medical students at IBBU, Lapai.
Health Commissioner Dr. Murtala Muhammad Bagana confirmed that the permanent teaching hospital project, delayed by contractor disputes, will take 18 months to two years to complete.
The government is re-awarding the hospital contract to ensure future batches of the 41 medical students do not need to travel to Zaria for training.
