A delegation of former civil servants and social activists moved an impeachment notice against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar under Article 324(5) of the Constitution, demanding his removal over proved misbehaviour.
The chargesheet lists six specific allegations, including undermining the collective functioning of the ECI, unauthorized changes to Form 6, unlawful use of ECINET, and mass disenfranchisement through the Special Intensive Revision.
Signatories to the notice include former Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, former home secretary G K Pillai, and former Central Information Commissioner Yashovardhan Azad, among other retired officials and activists.
