The Reserve Bank of India could raise the repo rate by 75-100 basis points in the current tightening cycle, according to an SBI Capital Markets report.
The report noted the Monetary Policy Committee raised the repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50 percent and shifted its policy stance to calibrated tightening.
India's real GDP expanded 7.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of financial year 2027, exceeding market expectations of 7.1 percent.
