The Ministry of Home Affairs formally identified 28 places and geographical features in Ladakh with standard names on the official Survey of India map.
The identified features include prominent peaks such as Atisha Giri and Zorawar Peak, alongside glaciers, valleys, passes, rivers, and lakes.
Officials stated the exercise aims to ensure accurate recognition, consistent nomenclature use across official references, and improved public awareness.
