Delhi University faces severe shortage of hostel accommodations

Only about 10 of Delhi University's over 80 constituent colleges provide hostel accommodations, housing a total of approximately 2,500 students.

The lack of campus housing has driven students into expensive paying guest accommodations across areas like Mukherjee Nagar and Satya Niketan.

Critics note that newly established colleges have failed to build hostels, while administrative reluctance and funding constraints have worsened the shortage.
