LG and Samsung Under Investigation in India for Tariff Evasion on OLED Parts

India's Directorate of Revenue Intelligence is investigating LG Electronics and Samsung for allegedly paying lower import tariffs on display parts used for high-end OLED televisions.

Authorities allege the companies incorrectly claimed a concessional 5% tariff meant for older LCD and LED parts instead of the required 15% duty for OLED parts.

Samsung is cooperating with authorities while contesting the claims, and industry groups have lobbied the IT ministry to extend the 5% duty concession to OLED components.
