Trump Signs Russia Sanctions Bill, Clears Way For India Tariffs

US President Donald Trump signed a sanctions package targeting Russian officials and economic sectors, passing the House of Representatives by a 262-159 vote on Wednesday.

The legislation authorizes tariffs of up to 100 percent on major buyers of Russian oil and gas, which could potentially cover China and India.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the passage symbolic and thanked US lawmakers, while India stated it would continue buying oil through diversified sourcing.
