Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed to Skip BIMSTEC Meeting in New Delhi

Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed will skip the first-ever BIMSTEC home ministers meeting in New Delhi on 13 October 2026.

A delegation led by a senior bureaucrat will represent Dhaka at the meeting amid strained ties between India and Bangladesh.

Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the meeting underscores regional resolve to combat terrorism, cross-border crime and cyber threats.
