Banking services at public sector banks were disrupted on September 11, 2026, as the United Forum of Bank Unions observed a nationwide strike demanding a five-day workweek.
Services including cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque clearances, and administrative work were hit at most public sector bank branches, while digital services remained functional.
In Madhya Pradesh alone, operations halted at around 7,000 branches affecting daily business worth approximately ₹5,500 crore.
