The Uttarakhand High Court dismissed a petition filed by Girdhari Lal Sahu seeking to quash an FIR registered against him at the Cantt police station in Dehradun.
Justice Alok Mahra observed that the allegations of domestic cruelty, forgery, and criminal conspiracy disclosed serious cognisable offences that could not be dismissed as a mere matrimonial dispute.
The FIR includes charges under Indian Penal Code sections for criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, cruelty by husband, and criminal intimidation, spanning the period from July 2004 to October 2026.
