Cochin Shipyard and UAE-based Drydocks World signed a 50:50 joint venture agreement on September 11, 2026, to operate and expand the International Ship Repair Facility at Cochin.
The agreement was signed by Drydocks World CEO Rado Antolovic and CSL chairman and managing director Jose V.J., with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and UAE Minister Omran Sharaf Alhashimi witnessing the event.
Both companies will hold an equal 50% stake, funding initial capital through equity contributions to strengthen India's ship repair capabilities and position it as a global maritime hub.
