Elected representatives across the United States joined Diwali celebrations held in six states and more than 20 cities.
Washington Governor Bob Ferguson signed a proclamation declaring November 8, 2026, as Diwali, the Festival of Lights Day, in the state.
Governors Jim Pillen of Nebraska, Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, Brad Little of Idaho, and Greg Gianforte of Montana also hosted festivities.
