Hollywood Stars Among 100 Detained in New York Protest Against Netanyahu

Movie star Susan Sarandon and actress Hannah Einbinder were among roughly 100 people detained by NYPD officers on Thursday during an unscheduled protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Demonstrators blocked an intersection near the United Nations General Assembly where Netanyahu was scheduled to speak, with organizers Jewish Voice for Peace stating over 400 people participated in a sit-in.

Inside the General Assembly, dozens of international envoys walked out as Netanyahu began his address, during which he criticized both enemies and allies over Palestinian statehood recognition.
