Shivamogga Teacher Wins 2026 National Teachers’ Award

Ratnakumari S., an in-charge headmistress from Shivamogga, has been named one of 48 recipients of the 2026 National Teachers’ Award and is the only winner from Karnataka.

With over 30 years of experience, she is recognized for her innovative teaching techniques and for fostering an environment-friendly, plastic-free campus at the Government Higher Primary School in Samatagaru.

The teacher will travel to Delhi to receive the honour from President Droupadi Murmu during the official Teachers’ Day programme.
