Kolkata Police registered a suo motu FIR against former CM Mamata Banerjee for violating a Calcutta High Court order during the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad rally on August 28.
The court had permitted the foundation day event on Cathedral Road with the condition that one flank remain open, but police reported the flank was blocked and time limits were exceeded.
Banerjee, who addressed the rally, criticized the BJP for alleged police atrocities and announced plans to tour the state while demanding ₹25,000 monthly compensation for evicted hawkers.
