Google to Launch New Googlebooks and OS on September 15

Google scheduled an official launch event in New York for September 15 to unveil its new Googlebooks hardware and a new Android-based operating system.

The upcoming OS, rumored to be called Aluminum OS, will integrate the Android technology stack with Chrome OS features to support premium hardware.

Initial hardware partners for the launch include Asus, HP, Lenovo, and Dell, with all devices expected to feature a distinctive design element called the Glowbar.
