US Strikes in Iran Follow Attacks on Strait of Hormuz

The United States launched a new wave of strikes against Iranian military targets on Wednesday, hitting air defence, radar, and communication sites following attempted attacks on commercial shipping.

Iranian officials reported at least five deaths, including a child, in a strike on a residence in Sirik county, while the governor stated 63 people were wounded in the incident.

The military escalation follows a persistent standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has blockaded since the start of the US-Israel war on February 28.
