
Google agreed to report child sexual abuse material directly to Indian authorities, breaking from its global practice of routing reports through a U.S. nonprofit.
The decision follows pressure from Indian government sources over delays caused by the previous intermediary system involving the U.S.-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
India is the largest market by users for both Google's YouTube and Meta's Facebook, which implemented a similar direct reporting shift last week.
