NMDC reports 18% rise in October iron ore production despite rail disruptions

State-owned NMDC reported an 18% year-on-year increase in iron ore production to 5.04 million tonnes in October.

Total sales declined over 11% to 3.44 million tonnes due to monsoon-related damage on the Kottavalasa-Kirandul railway line.

With rail connectivity now restored, the company expects dispatches to improve and is targeting 60 million tonnes of production this fiscal year.
