Three former TMC MPs who joined the NCPI requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah's intervention on Thursday to address the removal of loudspeakers from mosques in West Bengal's Murshidabad district.
The MPs, Yusuf Pathan, Abu Taher Khan, and Khallilur Rehman, also demanded that the Election Commission fast-track pending electoral roll tribunal cases by the end of 2026.
Official data shows 4.55 lakh names were deleted from Murshidabad's electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision ahead of the 2026 assembly polls, the highest deletion count in the state.
