The Africa CDC has mandated a shift to village-level Ebola response strategies in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to contain the ongoing outbreak following a high-level crisis meeting in Kinshasa.
DRC President Felix Tshisekedi chaired the Wednesday meeting, which included WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Africa CDC Director-General Jean Kaseya to finalize the immediate priority action plan.
The new measures include implementing free healthcare, stabilizing the health workforce, and ensuring schools can safely reopen next month despite the virus threat.
