Total Solar Eclipse Plunges Parts of Europe into Darkness

A total solar eclipse swept across Europe on Wednesday, with the moon's umbra creating a path of darkness less than 300km wide stretching toward the Balearic Islands.

The celestial event began in northern Siberia and passed over Greenland and Iceland before reaching Spain at approximately 8:30 pm local time (18:30 GMT).

While spectators in Spain experienced totality with temperatures near 40 degrees Celsius, cloud cover and rain obscured the view for many observers in Reykjavik, Iceland.
