Air India officially appointed aviation veteran Tewolde Gebremariam as its new CEO and Managing Director on August 5, following the departure of Campbell Wilson.
Gebremariam, formerly the head of Ethiopian Airlines, is tasked with steering Air India's turnaround strategy and managing its fleet expansion of over 400 new aircraft.
The appointment comes as the airline seeks to improve operational efficiency and service standards to compete with major global carriers in the Indian aviation market.
