MoSPI data shows high youth NEET rates across several Indian districts

District-level data from the Periodic Labour Force Survey released by MoSPI showed that over half of youth aged 15 to 29 in two Odisha districts were not in education, employment, or training.

Anugul recorded the highest national youth NEET rate at 56.1%, followed closely by Kendrapara at 51.4%, while Nabarangapur registered the lowest NEET rate at 4.1%.

Nationally, 251 out of 566 surveyed districts reported that at least 25% of young individuals fell into the NEET category during 2025.
