Three Kuki villagers were killed and four others injured in a targeted gun attack in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on August 31, 2026.
The incident occurred during a period of heightened ethnic tension, with local Kuki groups blaming armed militants for the assault on the remote settlement.
Nine Naga MLAs from the state have since demanded immediate intervention from the Centre to curb the violence and take action against Kuki-Zo leadership.
