Uber Technologies announced an all-cash acquisition of US corporate catering platform ezCater for $2.3 billion to expand its delivery business.
The acquired platform generated more than $2.5 billion in gross bookings over the past 12 months with average orders exceeding $400.
The transaction, which requires regulatory approval, aims to strengthen Uber's business-focused segment and expand its presence in the US food-delivery market.
