The Namakkal District HIV Positive People Welfare Society has formally requested the Tamil Nadu government to establish a separate welfare board for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The association is seeking increased monthly financial assistance beyond the current ₹1,000 for those in extreme poverty to ensure access to nutritious food and healthcare.
Demands include priority in government schemes, free land for housing, and dedicated dialysis machines at government medical college hospitals to prevent discrimination in surgical care.
