Trump asked Chinese President if he wants to buy U.S. arms, says Ambassador

U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue stated that President Donald Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping if he wanted to purchase U.S. weaponry.

The proposition occurred as Trump justified pending arms sales to Taiwan to Chinese leadership during discussions in Washington.

The informal offer, if consummated, would reverse decades of established U.S. foreign policy regarding China and self-ruled Taiwan.
