The US Supreme Court on Monday rejected a request by the Trump administration to intervene in California's midterm election vote count.
The Justice Department had sought to set aside 20,000 ballots alleged to have been issued to non-US citizens, a claim challenged by state election officials.
The one-line order denied the injunction, leaving lower court rulings in place and ending the administration's bid to disqualify the ballots.
