Flydubai Co-Pilot Attacks Captain with Axe Mid-Air over Middle East

A Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv plummeted 17,000 feet after the co-pilot attacked the captain with a crash axe mid-air.

Injured Indian Captain Smit Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door from the inside, enabling passengers and reserve pilots to overpower the attacker and land safely in Saudi Arabia.

Captain Machchhar sustained stab wounds and was airlifted to Abu Dhabi for treatment, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
