The crisis within the Boxing Federation of India escalated on Wednesday as president Ajay Singh and secretary general Pramod Kumar issued reciprocal suspensions against each other.
Pramod Kumar met with representatives from various state associations, with 27 of 34 units reportedly supporting him, following a move to initiate a no-confidence motion against Singh ahead of an October 24 Special General Meeting.
The federation rejected Kumar's authority to suspend the sitting president, stating that the secretary general lacks independent constitutional powers to take such action.
