French High School Students Stage Nationwide Protests Over School Conditions

Tens of thousands of students demonstrated in Paris and blocked school entrances nationwide on Thursday to demand improved educational conditions and less police brutality.

The protests follow clashes over police use of stun grenades, which left a 15-year-old demonstrator with severe injuries earlier in the week.

Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu promised a government crisis response plan by the end of October as Education Minister Edouard Geffray prepared concrete measures.
