Taiwan Deploys Ships to Monitor Chinese Coast Guard Patrols

Taiwan's Coast Guard deployed its own ships to monitor two Chinese Coast Guard vessels conducting a patrol off Taiwan's east coast on Saturday.

Taiwanese officials stated that the Chinese vessels harassed commercial shipping via radio communications and attempted to exert unlawful jurisdiction.

Taiwan's Coast Guard reported that China also sent another vessel close to the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands in the South China Sea.
