Indian Railways launched India's first LNG-diesel dual-fuel DEMU train from Sabarmati in Gujarat on September 27, 2026, to reduce diesel consumption and emissions.

The 8-coach, non-AC train operates between Sabarmati and Mahesana Junction, utilizing converted Driving Power Cars that can replace around 40 per cent of diesel use.
