Protests Against Siang Dam Project Turn Violent In Arunachal Pradesh

Demonstrations against the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project turned violent on Wednesday as protesters vandalised the residence of local MLA Alo Libang in Yingkiong.

Agitators set a police vehicle ablaze near the Dite Dime bridge, blocked roads, and damaged several government cars during clashes with security forces.

Protesters are demanding an immediate halt to pre-feasibility studies and survey work for the dam on the Siang river.
