EC Filings Show BJP Spent More in Bengal Than Congress Across Five Polls

According to Election Commission expenditure filings, the BJP spent ₹286.99 crore on the West Bengal elections alone, surpassing the Congress's total spend of ₹248.55 crore across five state polls.

Bengal accounted for over half of the BJP's ₹529.38-crore outlay across Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Bengal, where the party came to power winning 207 seats.

In contrast, the Congress reported spending ₹105.34 crore in Kerala, where its alliance unseated the Left, compared to ₹82.67 crore spent by the BJP in that state.
