Indian Institutions in QS Rankings Rise from 11 to 52 Since NIRF Launch

The Ministry of Education reported that the number of Indian institutions in the QS World University Rankings has increased from 11 to 52 since the launch of the NIRF.

The government attributes this growth to improved research output, faculty-student ratios, and enhanced academic reputation across premier institutes.

Despite the progress, the Centre acknowledged that addressing faculty vacancies remains a priority, with 3,500 positions filled in central institutions over the last four years.
