Pakistan rejected India's stance on Jammu and Kashmir after New Delhi clarified its support for a September 4 UN resolution aimed at rebalancing global cartographic representations.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India's vote for the resolution, which passed with 164 votes, promotes equal-area projections and does not endorse specific national boundary depictions.
Pakistani foreign ministry spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan claimed on Monday that India's assertions regarding the status of the territory are baseless and contrary to UN Security Council resolutions.
