Amityville School District Cancels Varsity Football Season

The Amityville Union Free School District officially canceled its varsity football season for the 2026-2027 academic year due to player injuries.

While the varsity program is suspended, the district confirmed that the junior varsity football team will continue to play its scheduled games this season.

Amityville joins other Long Island districts, including Port Jefferson and Holy Trinity, which also canceled their varsity football programs earlier this summer.
