Moroccan Police Arrest Over 100 Migrants Near Ceuta

Moroccan police arrested at least 111 migrants on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as they attempted to reach the Spanish enclave of Ceuta via mountainous routes.

Local reports indicate total arrests reached 294, including 46 Moroccan nationals, following a surge in migration attempts that began on July 30.

Approximately 72,000 people have entered Ceuta since late July, with at least 96 deaths reported during the crossings and 5,000 migrants currently remaining in the enclave.
